You or may not have heard by now, but Josh and I have officially announced that we are moving back to our hometown. We are experiencing a roller coaster of emotions with this decision: excitement to be close to our families again, nervousness towards the unknown, sadness towards leaving the people and youth group, specifically, we have grown to know in the past two years. You just never truly know what God has in store for you. When we moved two years ago we thought we'd be having babies here in our little home, our first to purchase together. No babies yet, but we did gain a cute little dog!
Change is scary and intimidating, but also very exciting. New opportunities, new adventures, seeing your life take a whole new direction. Yet this time it is very fimiliar. Josh has accepted the Children's Pastor position at the church I grew up in. Although I have been welcomed by many church families over the last 6 years, I still count many of these in my home church as my family. Even after leaving, these people have done so much for me and I am so excited to rejoin them.
We are constantly in prayer for our marriage and that we will be open to where God leads our ministry and on this we have prayed for a long time. We ask that you be in prayer for us during this transition as well. We pray for the church home we are leaving as they adjust and seek God's will in finding a new Youth pastor. We also ask for prayers for the church we are joining for open hearts and minds and for an easy transition.
With all of the craziness, I am reminded how amazing my husband is. I really do not give him enough credit and I am ashamed to admit that I am probably his biggest critic, but with all of the kind encouraging words people have complimented him with, I can't help but be proud. He has such a great demeanor with both kids and youth, which is so evident in the love they have for him. It was heartbreaking to see our youth here be so saddened when he told them about his new job, but encouraging to see what an impact he has been to them. I know as he takes on a new role in ministry he will do amazing things as long as he continues to let God mold him. Joshy, I'm so so so proud of you!
On another note, we of course will be putting our house up for sale soon. We are attempting to finish up some updates first so if you know anyone who will be looking to buy an updated home in Shattuck, we know a good one!
Thank you for all of those that have been encouraging to us and been praying for us as well! I am constantly reminded how much God has blessed us. I'm not sure why, I know that I am the least deserving of it, but I am indeed thankful.
