I haven't ever done one of these before, which I'm unclear of why, seeing probably 30% of the things I own are 2nd hand/thrifted. I've been visiting our local thrifts more recently and been finding some good stuff. Which that's the key right? the more you go the more you find. Sometimes it's a fluke and I come back with nothing, other times I spend a whole $20! I found these 3 brass sparrows that you hang on the wall last week and I can't wait to find them a place in whatever new home we have. They were a little pricey ($1 whole dollar for each, you guys), but they were one of those things you find and just have to have.
I've been a lot more into succulents lately. I managed to keep 3 alive that I bought last spring and so I felt like I was allowed to buy more this year. I'm not really big into faux foliage, but I definitely love the way plants can really "liven" up a space, enter more succulents! I've managed to find several small planters while thrifting this year and I got these little magnetic planters yesterday! I heart them. I suppose they could be used for something else other than planters, perhaps putting pencils in, rubber bands or something, but I like the succulents.
I've found that thrift stores are also a good place to find cheap crafting supplies such as ribbon or material. There are still more stamps at our local craft store I eye every time I'm there but have yet to get. I guess I'm really choosy with my quarters.
I know, I know. Another unicorn. Honestly, when I put it in my cart I think I rolled my eyes at myself, but wouldn't this look so sweet in a little girls room someday? (or maybe this girl's room?)
Dishes are also a go-to thrifting spot for me. I am definitely better at limiting myself in this area, because I just don't have the space or the use, and although I'm drawn towards lots of them, I'm trying to do better at finding a theme or at least a kind of color scheme for my kitchen-ware. I bought the bigger strawberry plate when Josh and I first got married. It's been in my cabinet storage since we moved, but I came across the mini version today. Although I have no idea what I'll do with either of them still, at least they have each other :D. As for the little bowls, I don't know if they are some kind of cooking prep bowl, but I bought them with salsa and other dips in mind.
Well that was fun! I hope to be posting some more lovely thrift store finds in the future. Have a lovely rest of your week, ya'll!
