I'm drawing a blank lately. We are on the cusp of moving, so I feel like I can't start any new craft projects in case they are interrupted, packed away, and forgotten about. I also can't start any new home renovations because well, I don't really want to invest much more into this home we will hopefully leave soon. I spend way too much time planning out how exactly I will remodel my new home (which has yet to be found or purchased), but I'm so excited for when that does take place. I envision SO many blog posts when that happens.
In the meantime (where does that word even come from?), I'm trying to save up for those future, possible renos. I feel like life is getting a bit more routine lately, but not really because each week is so different. However, I feel like we are finally finding a rhythm with it (which will again change when we move, sigh... life). I'm getting more "used to" my job, and Josh is loving his new job in Woodward. In our day-to-day, I find relish on the little things.
Succulents. I'm getting obsessed with succulents. I'm not the best at keeping things alive, and I don't really like faux greenery around the house, but I've very much enjoyed the low maintenance of these little guys and it's so easy to find new little containers for them at the thrift store. I had purchased a few last year, and when they started coming out for sale this year I realized I had kept them alive for a whole year and they were doing great! So, I CAN keep something alive! Time to buy more! They add a lot of life and color to a shelf, table, whatever. But again, I'm trying to keep myself from going crazy with them (I may already be there?), but I'd like to see how much shelf space I have in a new place.
THIS TEA! I drink it EVERY morning! As much as I love the culture around coffee drinkers, it just makes me way too jittery and nervous in the morning. I do love a nice hot beverage, though so I've taken up to drinking hot tea. I've tried LOTS of teas. Josh got me a monthly subscription to tea sparrow for christmas where many a tea was trailed, but this tea from World Market trumps them all. It says this is a limited edition, and I will be so so so sad when that is over. Downton Abbey you are truly the best in every way.
There are a few other flavors, but the Butler's Pantry Blend is my favorite.
A few more things. Although it's nothing new, we've been trying to eat at home a lot more, eat more fruits and veggies, ya know, and I've been enjoying cooking from the Pioneer Woman cookbooks a lot more. Her recipes are user friendly and so so yummy. I'm not spending so much time making something I end up gagging over, so that's a win-win! Also, have you played Disney Emoji Blitz on your phone? If not, do indulge yourself.
Also, also. I'm really itching to go somewhere, even though I did just go on vacation a little over a month ago, but I need to go somewhere far, that I've never been before, with people that live completely different from me. Ever get that feeling? It's probably a good thing it has taken a while for us to move, it forces me to re-evaluate priorities, spending-wise. Although I can't commit to a tiny house, I like that way of thinking. Smaller bills= more spending money.
Anyways, it's strange to yet again, be on the side of life where though the season is coming to an end (and thank goodness, I hate the heat!), summer being over does not effect me in terms of schooling. So as the rest of you are getting ready for school, I hope you are enjoying your last days of freedom, or the last couple of days with your kiddos at home! Enjoy those little things in life that make the days bearable, like succulents and good tea.
