I think it's fun to start seeing all of the "year in review" things as December comes to an end. I was joking with Josh this morning, or he might rephrase it as annoying him, and asking him, "what was your favorite moment of 2004? What was your least favorite moment of 1996?" and him replying with, "ughhhhhhh I don't knooooowwww."
So I thought, I'll do a blog about MY favorite moments of all my years! Well, that sounds great and all, but that's a little too much. Sadly, although I wish I could remember all of the best moments, I cannot.
And THEN I realized that my last TWO posts were flashback posts. Maybe the holidays just make me sentimental... So I guess I will continue on with my third flashback posts of my favorite 2015 moments. Also, I really don't want to deal with the post-Christmas along with leaving my husband and pets alone in the house for 4 days mess that is my home. It's a little overwhelming. So reminiscing it is!
In January one of my best friends got married! It was such a fun weekend and I got to ask off of work, so that's always a plus ;) I love this stage of life full of celebrations with friend's weddings, and it's even better to get to be a part of it as a bridesmaid! And who doesn't like to get all fancied up! Let's all have second weddings!
For our third anniversary in March Josh surprised me with a fun weekend in OKC with tickets to see Cinderella at the Warren and a stay at the beautiful Two Hearts Inn in Edmond. I felt fancy and it was so relaxing! We filled ourselves with Ted's and also bought a plethora of plants that didn't last long once Penny got a taste and someone also isn't the best at remembering to water them (me). Next year I believe I will stick with succulents and those thick-leaved plants that can go for a few weeks without water.
For my birthday in April all of our family came over and we spent a great evening on our back deck enjoying my favorite spring weather and roasting marshmallows on the newly built fire pit that Joshy built for me. I requested this candle that I have seen all over facebook. I love quirky/kitschy things, like a dancing singing flower candle, and what made it even more charming was the fact that it did not stop singing for hours and hours until we took the battery out. I'm so excited to use the other one next year (Josh accidentally bought two, I'm sure my family is excited).
At the beginning of May I found Kittens under my deck. KITTENS!!! They hated me, Patch hated them, and Penny wanted to eat them. But I'm still a little sad we didn't keep one. They were beautiful and my cat lady status just hasn't quite met the standard that I have set for myself. Making the responsible decision isn't fun sometimes. I mean wook at their wittle faces.
Towards the end of May we went on a cruise to Alaska and the Buchart Gardens in Victoria were my very favorite spot. A peak into what I think heaven will be like if I were to guess, but without all of the clouds. I'm still trying to convince Josh this is our future except with added peacocks and mini horses. Perhaps it's the fact that I didn't keep my own plants alive that he is not so convinced. If you ever get a chance to see these you MUST! They are incredibly beautiful, breathtaking even. BREATHTAKING I say! (click here to read more about this trip)
There was one time this year that my house was clean. Still can't figure out how people do it. I don't even have kids yet! And I had even moved some things off of my coffee table into the corner to take this picture.
For the 4th of July we celebrated at Josh's grandparents in Branson by mini golfing, taking pictures with giant meatballs, 4-wheeling, and nearly setting a tree on fire with these Tangled lanterns. They didn't particularly glide up into the sky like we were expecting no matter how loudly we sang "And at last I see the liiiiiiight!!!"
Sarah and I started Pete and Frankie's! Still in it's new stages, I'm excited to see where this little venture takes us! Favorite our store and shop with us
In September my sister, niece, grandma and I had such a fun weekend at Junklahoma! Oh, if I had gotten on the Fixer Upper bandwagon before I went there... I'm thinking 2016 calls for a weekend trip to Magnolia market, who's with me?
In October we took a sort of unexpected trip to Italy! Unexpected in the aspect that we had been planning this for 2016, but ended up going a year earlier and mamma mia! It was everything that I dreamed of and more! Venice is possibly my favorite place on earth and I'm trying to figure out how to get back there as soon as possible. My pets don't bite me when I dress them up for Halloween, so that's always a plus!
And finally, Joshy turned 25 on December 19th! He is halfway through his 20's! Old geezer! He is always a little bummed that his birthday gets combined with Christmas celebrations. I tried to convince him that having a birthday so close to Easter was a bummer too, but he didn't think it was the same thing. Next year I will try to be better at separating the two, someone remind me!
When I look back through these pictures all of them feel like they happened a couple of weeks ago at the most. It's true that time really does go by faster when you get older. 2015 was surely full of lots of surprises, but it was a great year. 2016, you've got quite the shoes to fill! Perhaps an unexpected trip to Tokyo? or a new pet? That whole mini horse thing is still up in the air...
What was your favorite Babbling Brooks post this year?
